As with any construction project, weather and inspections seem to be the biggest variables. As of this writing, it looks like the new clubhouse will open in April 2017. I know that deliveries of merchandise, retail display racks, etc. have already begun. In fact, I got a nice new Callaway shirt for 30% off, so stop by the clubhouse trailer and buy one.

I got the chance to meet builder John Hanna on the site of this beautiful home with commanding golf views both front and back.  The interior vaulted ceilings and coffered ceilings are going to be spectacular once they are finished. The pool house with tiki bar is going to be really neat to see once it’s finished.  This home is on the 10th golf hole of Echelon, so it’s in a great location. In addition, the front of the home has views across King / Mountain Road to the 2nd Nine of the golf course.

One of the toughest things to frame in a house are vaults. This one, over the entry foyer and beautiful spiral staircase, is a beauty.

The new cart barn and clubhouse are well under way now at Echelon.  As you can see, the Alpharetta horse country motif is strong in the design of these facilities.  The clubhouse grille is going to be a great place to sit and heckle your buddies as they put out on the 18th green, just below the terrace.

The cart barn looks like a barn.  Ingenious.  I can’t wait for everything to be open and staffed so I can use Echelon for one of my celebrity golf tournament fundraisers.  It’s going to be fun!

The clubhouse will overlook the 18th green and provider the perfect vantage point for great tournament finishes, or heckling your buddies as you enjoy a drink at the 19th hole.  The long mountain views from here will make it a picturesque location to enjoy a quiet meal as well.

The cart storage house is designed to fit perfectly into the Alpharetta horse country, with a Kentucky-style “barn” complete with cupolas.

The variance between Lots 43 and 44 has been resolved and progress is continuing on both properties.  These are going to be two fantastic homes.

The erosion control fencing and the layout of this home have been staked on this beautiful homesite with views of the #5 Green.

This is a great fishing lake right in the middle of golf holes #3, #4 and #6.  The lakeside cabin adds charm and a place to relax in this peaceful setting.

I’m hearing that plans are started to begin clubhouse construction in early 2016.  I stopped by the temporary clubhouse and talked to a few folks there, and it does seem that some level of action has started in this regard.

The declarant for the community since it was purchased in late 2012 has been the owner of the Echelon Golf Course.  After a lengthy review of the previous covenants, restrictions and architectural controls; these have been updated and modernized with input from the golf course owners, home owners, lot owners, local builders, real estate agents and others.  After that process was completed to everyone’s satisfaction, the Echelon Homeowner’s Association has been taken over by a group of actual home owners.  If you need to close a property in Echelon and need help from the HOA, just email me at mike@kwhickman.com and I’ll be glad to get you the correct information.
